Weekly News and Important Updates!

Hey Raleigh Rays!

Lots of notes to cover so please read carefully!

🙂

First, swimmer sign-ups for our next meet Tuesday, June 20, are due TOMMOROW NIGHT 6/17! I see that a lot of kids have already been signed up so thank you! Parent volunteer positions need to be filled too!! As always, HUGE thank you to the parents who have already signed up to help!!

A few reminders for our swimmers and families:

Caps are to be worn during practice each day! This helps keep goggles on, builds a sense of team, and gets the kids used to wearing them prior to the meets. If you have not received your team cap, please let me know!

  • Mirrored goggles are highly recommended to have for practice! We will be outside for the remainder of our season (weather permitting). Wearing mirrored goggles helps protect the eyes from sun damage.
  • Fins!! These are not mandatory but also highly recommended.
  • Private lessons are a great resource for swimmers who need extra help in a specific area. Dives, technique work or endurance practice are all ways to improve performance quickly and efficiently. We are offering a special $50 rate to our swim team members! If you are interested please reach out to me, Doracy, or one of our swim admin!
  • The 7-10 Group A practice from 6-6:45 is completely full, and we're asking if anyone is able to lighten the load by switching to Group B practice from 6:45-7:30! There are more open slots and would help our coaches immensely to balance the groups. Please let us know if you are a family in Group A able to make the switch.

Finally, this week’s swimmer SHOUT OUTS:

6 and under:

Inara Powell!!

Inara comes to practice each day with a smile, ready to work hard! Inara was one of our top scoring 6 and under girls for our meet against Coachman’s Trail! Great job Inara!!

7-10

Group A:

Caitlin January!

Caitlin has grown so much as a swimmer even just since the start of this season. She comes to practice ready to jump in and flies through every workout. “Coach Lauryn, can I do a 50 instead of a 25?” Caitlyn was our top scoring 7-10 girl on Tuesday! You killed it Caitlin!!

7-10 Group B:

Isaac Watson

Watching Isaac progress as a swimmer has been beyond rewarding to me and my fellow coaches! Isaac comes to practice every day with an open mind and positive attitude. He cheers on his teammates and his positivity is infectious!! You’re awesome Isaac!!

11+:

Braeden Greenup

Braeden dropped time in every one of his events on Tuesday!! Braeden is not only an incredible swimmer but a phenomenal teammate. He is such a kind and positive energy on our team. Keep up the great work Braeden!!
