Updates on our meet today!

Hey Raleigh Rays!

As you know, the weather for this evening's meet is not looking too good. We have decided not to attempt to host the meet indoors as we would be well out of ratio and fire code. We are currently in contact with Oak Park to discuss and determine a Plan B. Please keep your phone close by for updates!

Weather Permitting, here is the timeline and information for the meet:

We will be racing against Oak Park at our home pool! (8515 Falls of Neuse Rd. Raleigh, NC, 27615) Warm-ups will start at 5:00pm so everyone should arrive by 4:45 PM and have swimmers with caps and suits on, ready to get in the water at 4:55pm. We will be warming up INSIDE in the LAP lanes so our opponents can warm-up outside at the same time.

Warm-Up Schedule:

11+: 5:00-5:15 pm

6-: 5:15-5:25 pm

7-10: 5:25-5:40 pm

There will be a volunteer meeting at 5:40 with our TSA Rep Tania Garrelts under the administrative tent. The meet will begin at 6:00pm. Before you arrive at the meet, we also need everyone to write their swimmer’s names on their arms to help kid pushers and timers.

Any family members and friends can come watch RAL Ray swimmers at all meets this summer. Parents do not have to use a guest pass for anyone to watch the swim meet. They just need to tell the front desk when they arrive that they are here to watch the swim meet. They will have to bring their ID, sign a waiver, and will be given a blue wristband.

A few reminders about some facility rules:

1. Life Time does NOT allow any outdoor food, coolers, or alcohol. Our staff will stop any families that arrive with coolers, outside food, etc. and will not allow them access to the pool until these items are returned to their car.

I know this makes it hard on families so please note that we do allow swimmers to bring a drink, food, and small snacks ONLY IF ALL ITEMS FIT INSIDE A LUNCH BOX. This must be the size of a lunch box that a child would take to school with them for a meal.

As I’m sure most of you know, we do have options for food and drinks through Life Time, however, with our Life Time Bistro outside (which has agreed to stay open until 9 tonight) and the Life Time Cafe inside (which also closes at 9).

2. The entire OUTDOOR free swim area of the pool and INDOOR pools ARE closed to swim team swimmers starting at 5pm (ASIDE FROM WARM-UP’S).Please be sure to communicate this to your swimmers beforehand because we can’t have our swim team swimmers in the free swim pool during the meet or meet warmups.

Let’s get all our swimmers excited to have fun, swim fast, and be great sports tonight! We look forward to seeing everyone there! Go Rays!
