Win at Wendell

Hello Raleigh Rays,

I'm so excited to announce we started the season off with a win against Wendell with a final score of 269-227! I've been telling the swimmers after our first win (since we didn't get one last summer) they get to throw me in the pool with all my clothes still on, I will be letting them do that at the conclusion of 11up and 9-10 practice tomorrow night around 7pm if any of the younger kids would like to hang out.

I am SO proud our swimmers, we had so much improvement at last night's meet. 132 total improvements, at a rate of 51% as a team. Over the next week or so, we will be posting a physical copy of our team records for summer league in the shadowbox by the lap pool/cold plunge but I do want to announce we have a new addition to our record books,

Congratulations to the 9-10 Boys Medley Relay (Paul Hibbett, Isaac Watson, James Stutzman, Declan Carlson) on setting a new Life Time Raleigh Rays team record of 1:21.83 (previously 1:22.23). We have several other both relay and individual entries that ended up within striking distance of the current record for their gender and age group and I will announce any more broken records over the course of the season in the weekly summary email!

Congratulations to the following swimmers for improving in ALL of their events: Donnelly Calabro, Walt Fredrickson, Paul Hibbett, Skylar Jones, Maggie Kaczmarek, James Stutzman, Isaac Watson, Emery Owens, Scarlett Bowlin, Milo Jimenez, Liam Pellegrino, Will Andrason, Eleanor & Lillian Bowman, Olivia Grocohowski, Gregorio Guerriero, Ada Pires, Sais Smith, and Herad Tabakh!

Congratulations to the following swimmers for improving in all but one of their individual events: Lillian Brewer, Ahva Charkesht, Charlotte Coley, Sydney Dull, Sky Fomenko, Olive Kaczmarek, Bennett, Josie & Madeleine Penner, Banks & Gemma Scott, Charley Speight, Lydia Stutzman, Ace & Saige Thornton, Grayson Watkins, Emery Carlson, Braxton & Brynlee Dutton, Braeden & Gianni Greenup, Penelope Hibbett, George Hutton, Felix Lipscomb, Theo Liddle, and Bennett Dobslaw!

Parents:
Next week's meet will be at Coachman's Trail (more details to come later this week), and entries will close at 11:59PM on Sunday, 6/14. Please make sure to mark whether your swimmer is attending or not; this helps us keep Tuesday nights organized and running smoothly for both teams and volunteers. When declaring, remember there are options to opt out of early or late relays. If you anticipate arriving late or needing to leave early, please include that in your notes so we can plan accordingly.

We understand that Wendell was a farther meet and that timing can be challenging while many schools are still in session. That said, we had a high number of last-minute requests to be removed from the freestyle relays. While we always try to accommodate, once Tuesday arrives it becomes difficult to adjust relays without impacting the entire lineup. To help ensure a smooth meet for all swimmers, we ask that you provide as much advance notice as possible. If you do need to leave before the end of the meet, please check in with a coach or your child’s kid pusher beforehand to confirm whether they are scheduled for the final relay. This helps us avoid last-minute disruptions for the full team - when a swimmer leaves before their relays, we often times have to drop the entire relay. We appreciate your understanding!

GO RAYS!

Coach Sean :)
